The Village of Elk Grove and the Elk Grove Village Jaycees will be sponsoring a community blood drive on Saturday, November 7, 2009 from 8 am to noon at the Charles Zettek Municipal Complex, 901 Wellington Ave (on the corner of Wellington and Biesterfield Rd, 1 block west of Arlington Hts. Rd. and 3 blocks east of Rt. 53/I-290) in Elk Grove Village. Lifesource will be collecting blood donations to increase their supply for the upcoming holiday season. People are encouraged to make an appointment, but walk-ins are also welcome. To make an appointment, call 1-877-543-3768 or visit: https://www.lsbright en.org, and type "60007" in the "locate a blood drive" section, click search and scroll down to the Elk Grove event and click on that. Participants must bring an ID with them, and are encouraged to eat a good meal prior to donating, and drink plenty of water the day before and of your donation. All participants will recieve a coupon from Rocco Vino's for a free slice of pizza (with one topping) and a drink.

We welcome everyone to join us for an Ice Cream Social on Wednesday, August 26 from 7-8 pm at Diary Queen on Devon Ave., just east of Arlington Heights Rd. in Elk Grove Village. North Region Jaycees who’s ready to meet the 2010 State officers Candidates????? Well the Mundelein Jaycees will be hosting the next North Region Social this Friday night so come out and join us. For the past several years, the Elk Grove Jaycees have participated in Relay for Life, which raises money for the American Cancer Society and helps fund cancer research and programs that help people who have cancer. Relay for Life this year will be Friday, June 12 at 6 pm at Elk Grove High School, 500 W. Elk Grove Blvd. We've all known somebody who has been affected by cancer, and supporting this event would be a great way to pay tribute to them. If you would like to participate and join the Elk Grove Jaycee team online, click on the following link: http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR/RelayForLife/RFLFY09IL/900062170?pg=team&fr_id=14985&team_id=398948 The ACS asks that participants raise $100 for the event, although they will gladly accept any money that you raise. Relay for Life is an all-night event that will end at 6 am on Saturday, June 13, but if are unable to stay all night, that is fine. Come for the evening or stay all night. If you are unable to attend the event that evening, you can make a donation to our team by clicking on the link above.
